Electrolysis was invented over 100 years ago, but it is still considered by the US FDA to be the only permanent method of hair removal. Electrolysis machines have improved considerably over the years; however, achieving good results still largely depends upon the skill of the practitioner. As a certified professional electrologist, I can help you to get rid of unwanted hair anywhere on your face or body.

How does it work? A disposable probe, as fine as a human hair, is inserted into a hair follicle. The probe sends a micro-current of galvanic electricity into the follicle which causes salt and water in the skin around the probe to be chemically altered to produce a tiny amount of sodium hydroxide, or lye. Repeated treatments cause the lye to destroy the follicle’s ability to create new hair. 

How long does it take? The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently will vary from person to person; however, I offer a FREE consultation during which I can estimate the number of treatments it will take to get rid of your unwanted hair.

Most clients return once a week or every other week, as necessary. It is important to attend appointments regularly to obtain the best results.  But, the unwanted hair will be gone forever once the series of treatments is completed. Each treatment lasts between 10 minutes and one hour. The total cost of your treatments depends upon number of hairs being treated and the number of visits you require.

Waxing

It is advisable to take a painkiller (e.g. Advil, Tylenol) prior to your first waxing. Hair should be at least 1/2 cm in length. Not recommended for individuals on some prescription medications.
